I don't really have anything to type about today. No words of wisdom, theme, or funny story or cartoon to post. But I promised in yesterday's blog to go out with my camera today and try and capture a few shots.
It is a bit overcast, not the best morning for taking pics and as quiet as it was yesterday, it seemed to be even quieter today.
Well for a little bit anyways, until the blue sky was filled with a loud hum that grew louder as a small yellow plane zoomed overhead.
I see this plane a lot, the pilot buzzes my little town quite often and I am not sure if he actually does any kind of crop dusting, or if he is just out for pleasure. I got a few snaps, but none that are really exceptional. The closest and potentially best shot was captured just as the plane flew behind the trees..grrrr.
I'll have to try and catch him again some morning. Most often he flies on the week-end, disturbing any chances of me sleeping in.
I have to admit my walk outside didn't last long, there just didn't seem to be much that caught my interest, everything was just so brown and blah but I did find a little bit of green...
I also snapped a pic from my backyard looking over towards the neighbors, the pic is a little deceiving in that there is actually several feet from the corner of the building (garage) and the neighbors brown yard that I mentioned yesterday in a blog...
You would think that I would find something stirring outside to take a picture of but, all the birds, and squirrels, and anything remotely human had retreated from the heat and humidity. So, a bit bored with my efforts by then, I snapped a pic of my "tree scab" where the bark has come off and you can see some cracking a bit...
Not far from it, near the neighbors, I spied this collection of bits of junk sitting on an old lid from a cast iron kettle. I like quirky stuff like this that has textures and shapes and has the naturalness of stone and wood and metal...
And finally...freshly picked from the garden today, the first tomatoes of the year. I thought they would never turn red.
Today had me thinking as I was uploading pics and resizing them that I should make more of an effort to get out and snap a picture of something every day. How hard could it possibly be to just take and post one pic a day for 30 days?. Don't worry, I won't start another challenge, do not freak and hover your finger over that delete button to take me off your contact list, I am just kidding on the one pic a day for a 30 day challenge.
I think?
For a moment I thought you had a new hobby of flying model airplanes... I like how you placed those two tomatoes.
ReplyDeleteCome on Vic fess up...you cute little litterbug...You kinda remind me of Donald Duck and his nephews!
ReplyDeleteVery interesting pictures, Vic. I enjoyed your walk outside. I can never catch planes with my camera....you did well. Your maters are beauties.
ReplyDeleteI accept the 30 day camera challenge you are not sure if you are starting. *smile* I am walking out the door with camera as soon as I am done here at Multiply.
So does this mean there's a new challenge starting??? ;-o

ReplyDeleteThem's some pretty orbs there, too bad they are poisonous.

ReplyDeleteyour tomatoes look great ! mine were totally pornographic
hmmm...babes...today you looked around with your eyes at the scenery and wondered what appealed to you...to take a picture of....
tomorrow...lift the camera...look through that viewfinder , i call it my looking glass....and then zoom into details...under those leaves...close to the tree bark....that junk of your neighbour .....you'd be surprised how beautiful the mundane stuff is.....
xoxo
Thanks George, I placed them that way to get the most red coloring as the shoulders of the tomatoes still have a bit of yellow/orange....

ReplyDeleteLol Sharon thanks for joining in on the 30 day camera challenge that isn't...(wink)... Looking forward to seeing your pics, I am going to have to get my thinking cap on and get my walking shoes out ;)
ReplyDeleteum...er...maybe?...(whispers I think so).....(cringes and waits for the rotten tomatoes to be thrown)...
ReplyDeleteso far so good Robert. I have been lucky in the fact that there has been virtually no big winds or breezes that would stress it even more...
ReplyDeletelol, not a tomato lover? I have to confess I am not one to just eat them on their own, but I do like them in salads, salsa, and other dishes....
ReplyDeleteaw c'mone bee....come back...it won't be painful....even if you just take a pic of what you are eating for breakfast that day it will be something....It won't hurt...I promise.......(now where did I put that really big needle?)...
ReplyDeleteDarn, I missed that challenge, must have been on someone's blog I didn't know about?... I should try and capture some close-up detail more, I am sure during a few of those days coming up I will have something viewed up close and personal ;)
