This evening I went out for a bit of a drive and snapped a few pics of old buildings.
The first pic, is a cropped detail of the bottom of an old building I thought looked interesting. The second pic is the old building, taken from the corner looking down the side of the building. I liked the way the wood seemed pieced together on the old structure. The last pic is a picture of an old chicken coop that I thought looked picturesque in it's rural setting...
Four more days to go....Woohoo!
These are so cool!!! I LOVE old buildings!! That chicken coop is AWESOME!!
ReplyDeleteI want to live in the country! Nice shots, I especially like the chicken coop.
ReplyDeleteNice pics of barns... I have been thinking of making miniature replicas out of wood.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone. Thought maybe you all were getting tired of wildlife and plants so thought I would mix it up a bit. I love old buildings, with worn wood and exposed metal and stone. They have such a quiet history when you see them abandoned all alone.
ReplyDeleteGeorge, that sounds neat, hope you post pics if you do make those minature replicas!
these are really great..... all around me are rural and decaying building ~ meaning I need to get in the car and go find them, lol.... maybe you've inspired me....
ReplyDeleteInteresting coop, never seen one like that around here!
ReplyDeleteso easy on the eye.....lovely vic....
ReplyDeleteI'd luv the chance to poke around some of these old buildings. Amazing photographs Vic.
ReplyDeleteWell no WONDER my photos suck . . . I don't live by cool old crumbly buildings like you do . . . I LOVE these photos, especially the first and second one . . . I am feeling splinters just LOOKING at them . . .
ReplyDeleteOld, weathered wood has such great textures and you captured them perfectly. The top pic instantly reminded me of the outhouse I used until I was eight and we moved to a place with indoor plumbing. :-)
ReplyDeleteVery nice pictures, Vic. I would love to go walking down that lane. Is that a chimney on the chicken house? lol
ReplyDeleteLol Vero, I assumed it was for venting? I don't know. It may have started out as something else but the people that live there use to raise chickens in it years ago when I was just a kid.
ReplyDeleteVery nice camera work! You captured the light and subject beautifully. Have you thought of using flickr? As photo page?
ReplyDeleteThese are just wonderful pictures, Vic. Full of history...if only old buildings could talk.
ReplyDeleteThey'd say, "Paint me, paint me!" LOL
